F. Peters. ca. 1893<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otto Schick has published two mandolin methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-theme-palette-6-background-color has-background\">Method for the Neapolitan Mandolin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">published by Friedrich Hofmeister 1901<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mandolin-Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">published by C. F. Peters in Leipzig, ca. 1893<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otto Schick lebte nach Angaben in R. Janssens&#8216;&nbsp;<strong>Geschiedenis van de Mandoline<\/strong>&nbsp;von 1850 &#8211; 1928. Er sei als 26 j\u00e4hriger blind geworden. Bereits 1877 gr\u00fcndete er den Leipziger Gitarren-Klub, der auch auf der Titelseite erw\u00e4hnt ist:&nbsp;<em><strong>Direktor der Mandolinen- und Gitarrengesellschaft &#8222;Harmonie&#8220; zu Leipzig<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interessant ist der kurze Abschnitt \u00fcber die Geschichte der Mandoline. Schick erw\u00e4hnt, dass Krumpholz, ein Freund Beethovens, eine Sontatine f\u00fcr Mandoline geschrieben hat &#8211; die Originalwerke von Beethoven selbst kannte er offensichtlich nicht. Daf\u00fcr erw\u00e4hnt er die Canzonetta aus Mozarts Don Giovanni sowie einige andere Werke, bei denen die Mandoline mit verwendet wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offensichtlich war Otto Schick auch bei anderen Mandolinenspielern und -lehrern sehr anerkannt. Die Mandolinenschule von Pietro Leoni ist Otto Schick,&nbsp;<em>Dirigent des Mandolinen- und Guitarreklubs in Leipzig&nbsp;<\/em>gewidmet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otto Schick hat&nbsp;viele St\u00fccke f\u00fcr Mandolinenorchester bearbeitet und herausgegeben, ausserdem einiges selbst komponiert. Einen Eindruck davon bekommt man von den Verlags-Anzeigen am Ende der Schule. Ich habe einen Band mit zweimal 15 St\u00fccken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die \u00e4ltere Mandolinenschule von OItto Schick war auch Vorbild f\u00fcr die erset japanische Mandolinenschule von Kenpachi Hiruma, wie man beim Vergleich der Abbildungen feststellen kann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Otto Schick<\/strong>&nbsp;(1850 &#8211; 1928) was one of the first German mandolin players. In 1877 he founded the Guitar-Ensemble of Leipzig. He has published two mandolin methods, pieces for mandolin and guitar or mandolin and piano and also works for mandolin orchestra.
